The prestigious Ferrari World Park opens in Abu Dhabi
When you think about exclusive Italian design, you think about Ferrari. The Maranello company, in addition to making every one's dream car, is also present in the garage of powerful Arab sheikhs who, for years, have been among the biggest Ferrari enthusiasts and collectors.
So it is not surprising that the first theme park dedicated to the world of Ferrari is to be inaugurated in the deserts of the Arabian peninsula.
Originally the opening of this recreational engineering marvel was set for last week, but due to the death of the ninety-two-year-old Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Sheikh of Ras Al Khaimah, the park will open its doors today to more than 10,000 Ferrari fans waiting to visit the 40 acres of fun.
The park is now ready and promises, not only limitless fun with all the attractions designed to reproduce the thrill of Formula 1 Ferraris, but also to serve as a cultural bridge between Italy and the UAE, fostering economic and cultural exchange and dispersing not only the passion and excellence of Ferrari, but also that of Italy.
Luca Cordero di Montezemolo himself has expressed great enthusiasm and satisfaction with the Ferrari Park and wanted to personally thank the highest offices of the State of the United Arab Emirates, with the following statement:
"First of all, on behalf of everyone from Ferrari, I would like to personally express our sincere condolences to the government and people of the United Arab Emirates for their tragic loss. I would also like to thank the nation and all those who made it possible for this dream to come true - a theme park completely dedicated to Ferrari.
Only four years ago the park was just a project, an idea, perhaps even too ambitious of an idea, but now it is reality. Everyone at Ferrari is grateful to all those who have worked tirelessly over the past two years to make this possible.
Abu Dhabi is a great city which is constantly looking forward and we are very proud of our partners who, like us at Ferrari, have the same passion, the same vision and the same will to always go above and beyond.
This park combines technological innovation and tradition and is not dedicated solely to Ferrari fans, but to whole families: there are attractions for men, women and children. It also represents the true Ferrari touch just as it is intended by us at Ferrari, with our exclusive GT and race cars, our history and cultural heritage.
We also like to think that the Ferrari theme park can make a small contribution to strengthening the bridge between our two cultures.
Finally I would like to personally thank His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and the Emir of Abu Dhabi, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, for their guidance and support. Many thanks also to Khaldoon Al Mubarak and Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh for their crucial support. "
